92-year-old Victim of a Drug Raid

Submitted by JC on May 4, 2007 - 11:33pm.

This week I met with representatives of the family of a 92-year-old woman gunned down in a drug raid in Atlanta, Georgia.

Kathryn Johnston was a 92-year-old woman shot and killed in her Atlanta home in a drug raid last November. Investigators learned that the Atlanta police provided false information to obtain a special warrant to allow the officers to enter the home of Ms. Johnston unannounced. The police pressured an informant to sign a false statement in order to get the "no knock" warrant.

I have joined with a number of my colleagues to seek additional information from the FBI on this case. I am encouraged that the Bureau has begun an investigation, and believe this provides an opportunity to probe more thoroughly into the handling of informants and the use of incentive-based pay that compensates narcotics agents more for each raid they undertake.

We have requested a meeting with the Attorney General on this matter and I will update you on any progress we make.

Been there, done that

There once was a police chief named Fitzsimons. He ran Seattle. Like a bull runs a pasture. But, of course, that was just what those who "crossed" him had to say about things, no "respectable" person had anything but praise for the man, who kept them so safe from all those (poor) People they feared so irrationally.

And this went on, day by day, night after night, for 15 years. It was referred to as, The Fitzsimons Stank. By all but the tiny minority known as, the Respectable People.

Then one night all this came suddenly out of the dark and became very obvious. I mean, to the respectable people. Everyone else already knew.

What happened was, the State Gambling Commisioners Mother died wearing handcuffs, on his living room carpet. Of course, hand cuffs are not dangerous, and that is not what killed her. It was the policemans Knee across the back of her neck that killed her. And that was not really a problem either, as it turned out, because the Seattle Police had sympathy for an officer who accidentally killed a drunken druggaddled handcuffed whore who attacked him irrationlly while he and his partners served a "drug" warrent.

On the wrong address.

But even that was Ok, warrents sometimes get rewritten (i.e.Forged). What wasn't OK was, that every politicion in the State of Washington Knew this particular lady, personally. And she knew all of them. The expression Grande Dame has gone out of style, but if Washington ever had one, she was the last.

So, of course, all the politicains were embarressed. The outrageous things they were hearing from the police, about this lady who all knew was not at all anything but "respectable" showed that what had been said, too many times, about the Seattle Police, was in no way an exaggeration.

Fitzsimons was "eased out". You decide if he recieved praise, or faint praise. And Seattle went looking for a certian kind of man to replace Mr. (Nee Chief) Fitzsimons. Seattle found it's man, In Chief Norman Stamper.

Chief Stamper was brought in to "Change the culture" of the Department. He succeeded. A reporter asked him how he learned what he needed to know to accomplish what he had. Chief Stamper was forthcoming. He explained that he knew about dirty cops, because he was one. It could hardly be avoided. He went on to explain how, on his first day on the job, his partner sent him into a notorios tavern with instructions to drag out and arrest the biggest, ugliest man in that bar. Rookie Stamper asked why. He was told, Because I said so. Rookie Stamper had a clear choice. He made it. And therefter recieved his fellow cops trust.

This forthrightness cost Chief Stamper his Job. Though it is the qualification Seattle was looking for, and found in him. Though it would have been impossible for Chief Stamper to succeed without this peculier asset, the understanding of the problem. Though the point Chief Stamper was making was the ubiquity of rotten cops. And though the question was "How did you get rid of the rotten cops?" A question deep indeed.

A very interesting question, If you ask me. And that Chief Stamper would, not just could, answer it, makes him pretty interesting too. Losing his position as Chief has not completely stopped him from continuing the same work. Chief stamper has written a book.

In light of the topic raised above, It might be valuable for the Chairman to have this book. If I am informed of a desired destination, I will ask Amazon to send it.

In closing I make the comparison of Mr. Bush, and Chief Stamper. It is like night and day. One is trying to start what the other is trying to stop. One is the problem, the other is the solution. The differance is, one guides the mind with the fist, the other guides the fist with the mind.

This is the crux of our difficulties.

Thanks for the reference

I will look into finding this book.

In my area, I call it Government sponsored gentrification.

Any time the value of property, outgrows the ability of the inhabitants to properly utilize this property, the American gestapo begins a campaign to depopulate the area.

By using the police to force the inhabitants to adhere to a higher standard of justice than the investor class members of society who want to develop their property, it results in unconstitutional activity.

People of the victim class get criminalized and harassed while the cops who violate their rights, get a free pass. Since lawyers are educated investor class people with rich man dreams, they refuse to present arguments that they know will win.

Instead of dealing with the illegalities, they talk about the rights the community has in ensuring that their property values don't go down. Rather than argue for the rights of the individual, they argue for the rights of the investors.

If these investors were as aggressively criminalized as their victims, equal justice would prevail. But it doesn't happen that way. Upper class cokeheads are looked at as go-getters and allowed to ply their wares to anyone with an associates degree and above, while Average Joe who wants to smoke pot to forget the economic disenfranchisement created by this scenario, is vilified for being a menace to society.

New York City sat idly by as the Diallo types were shot like dogs in the street, and my area has children receiving prison time for their youthful indiscretions, as middle aged CO's get slapped on the wrist and praise for their lifetime of service, after pleading guilty to trafficking heroin from hundreds of miles away, to supply the prison where they work.

I wonder if anyone thought to look into the developers in Seattle, after the police murdered the woman in question? Maybe she dissed a plan to throw the bums out under constitutional grounds.

With people like Yoo at Berekely, Condi a provost at Stanford, Starr at Pepperdine, the concept of America as a nation that protects the rights of the poor and the rich equally, won't last.

These aren't mistakes in my area. It is all part of the big plan to create the Bob Marshall Wilderness Park.

If you think it's bad now, wait until the eco-tourism market really heats up. Rather than force these people to clean up their mess in the cities, they're trying to take our property as they force us to live by a higher standard of justice, than they themselves are capable of.

If you're lucky, you're a member of a family that will edify their dreams. With people like that, even if there is a warrant against you, they won't arrest you. So far we've had multiple shootings and bludgeonings, by people who should have been imprisoned months before.

The one who died in the farmhouse a couple weeks ago, after the police shot one of their own in the back of the head, had a 2 month old warrant. A guy who killed 2 retired Canadians also had warrants out for his arrest. He beat them to death, then dumped their corpses in a back field, covered by a manure spreader.

At the same time, people who do nothing illegally, other than smoke pot, are endlessly harassed. But they don't come from "good families". It's allowed.

You better hope that the eco-tourism market doesn't set their eyes on your neighborhood. If so, contact "Cheaper than Dirt" for a good semi-auto weapon. You never know when you might get a visit from a "good family".

Attempting conversation with the rebuplican base requires the use of what amounts to a foriegn language. Those suseptable to reason have already acceded to the facts. This is why the Pres has a 28% approval rating. To drive that number lower, sense must be considered secondary to emotion in the discussion.

Example, the absence of a basis for the war in Iraq has made no impression on the Presidents base. This Story might reach, but thru the heart, not the head. Softer target? If so, then maybe these can be rehabilitated. Which is a far cry from becoming friends.

Obscene Abuse of Police Power

Thank you for reporting on this, Rep. Conyers. It is important to hold police accountable for their actions. But more important I think is to analyze weaknesses in the system which might tend to promote the type of mindless and terrible violence that is apparent in this case.

We are in deep need of far and widely reaching societal reformations, if not transformations!

For example, how does drug policy play in the real world? Well, for one, a 92 year old women was gunned down in Atlanta after police obtained false information to justified a no knock break-in warrant.

This is not the kind of society in which I want to raise children.

This story epitomizes how "sick" this country has become!

How sick and pathetic can things become when REAL criminals are not captured, but a 92-year old woman is? It goes beyond all rational thinking and is fathomless.

Of course, the President and his "posse" have done and do exactly as they wish -- lying, bullying, leading unsuspecting, unaware soldiers to their deaths on false pretexts, torture, treason, imprisoning people and stripping them of all rights and no recourse for them, spying on Americans, removal of "justice" from the Justice Department and a bevy of other violations, and go scot free, is it not conceivable that the lower echelon officials would feel some unspoken right to the use of "stronghold" tactics in their own particular scenarios? It all "trickles" down from the "top" in my book.

(This is NOT an isolated case, BTW -- I read of a similar incident some months ago [sorry, I don't remember the details].)

Rocky rocks! Rocky vs. Hannity on Fox!

"Rocky, Hannity go at it before rowdy crowd
By Christopher Smart
The Salt Lake Tribune

The much-ballyhooed "smackdown" between Salt Lake City Mayor Rocky Anderson and Fox News commentator Sean Hannity took on a circus atmosphere and lived up to its billing as Friday night at the (political) fights.

A raucous crowd filled the University of Utah's Kingsbury Hall with cheers and jeers as Anderson and Hannity exchanged jabs and insults to the thrill of the divided - and often vocal - audience.

Moderator Ken Verdoia chastised the debaters and the audience regularly. He frequently shouted at the debaters and at times looked to be at wits end. . . .

. . . . Anderson, the former lawyer and litigator, led off with a PowerPoint presentation in building his case against the Iraq war and for the impeachment of President Bush.

"Our most-cherished values as Americans have been betrayed in unprecedented fashion," Anderson said. "Either we condone what he has done through our inaction or we impeach him." . . . ."

. . . .The mayor closed by saying the U.S. "war of aggression" in Iraq is not what America stands for.

"To remove the president would send a resounding message to the world," he said. "To remain silent is complicity."

Well, what do you expect?

The murder of a 92 year old innocent lady by "Law Enforcement" personnel is of a piece with an "Administration" that will lie to get us into an unnecessary and unwinnable war, and create 30,000+ American casualties, 10 per cent of which are fatalities - and what evil deeds did these innocents do to merit a fatal end, any more than the geriatric victim in Atlanta? What did going on a MILLION Iraqi casualties, and two million dispossessed Iraqis do to deserve their fate, except perhaps sitting on a largish pool of oil?

Investigating, and perhaps visiting condign punishment upon the misled police task force in Atlanta is all very well, but how about the Chief of Police? And the Mayor?

Investigating, and perhaps visiting condign punishment upon "Torture is Okay" and "I don't remember" Gonzales may be A GOOD THING TO DO, but how about the Administration that nurtured such a monster?

The cases are parallel. If you visit investigations upon the one, with an eye to removing the evildoers, WHY NOT THE OTHER?

When are hearings on Kucinich's resolution to commence? It is at LEAST as important as the unfortunate murder of a nonagenarian!

Concerning yesterday's discussion:

1. Sink to their level.
2. Don't worry about making sense. Appeal to their prejudices'.
3. It's not how LOUD you are...especially thru this medium. It's that they only respond to things that directly effect them. Otherwise they don't give a shit.
4. List of motivations: Gas prices, wages (money, inflation), jobs, police abuse (harassment for drug use), health care, and racist ideology.
5. Most morons don't vote. The ones that do are the dependant types that "need" religion. For those, paint the GOP as evil...easy for us since they really are; but breaking the "radical islamic terrorist" image and spell they are under is tough.
6. My "adjusted benchmark" for the bottom is Cheney's poll numbers: 19% still??

Hope this helps.

Also, everyone has mentioned they don't know what to do now. We can pitch in by countering the spin that will surely come from the corporate controlled GOP media blitzkrieg to get the money "to the troops". (i.e. blackops to start the Iran debacle he is itching for)

A letter campaign to news outlets to defeat the upcoming media onslaught to get the money 'no strings attached' is an option. The Dems caving in on this issue is as bad as them caving in on Alito's confirmation without a filibuster. They will be unable to recover and come forth with ANY effective way to stop the Iraq debacle. They barely came up with a majority for this bill.

My predictions are panning out true so far: Bush vetoed the bill and now is pressing for a quick turn around from Congress.

Off topic-URGENT: United States and European Union join forces

A highly important and underreported event happened this week.

It appears that the European Union and the United States have met to join forces. Members met this week to form a partnership to harmonize economic regulatory standards and form one single market, marching towards a globalized world order.

The article entitled:

EU/US Merger: New Global Order By Stealth
Few notice huge shift towards globalization
as frothing masses distracted by climate change debate
:

has the following quote:

"The BBC reported from the Summit in Washington on Monday:

The two sides agreed to set up an "economic council" to push ahead with regulatory convergence in nearly 40 areas, including intellectual property, financial services, business takeovers and the motor industry."

Did you hear that, Congressman Conyers? The article said the "MOTOR INDUSTRY."

They are "PUSHING AHEAD," Congressman Conyers. That means, they are not looking to come to Congress to ask or tell anything. Just like the North American Union that portends to be nothing at all, but has an entire INTRANET for its members to work on, they will be forging ahead behind the scenes, and it will be a DONE DEAL! These are LAWS that will override our laws here in the United States of America, sir.

Congress? What Congress!!! Oh yes, that show of government for the people. You know - the one to make them think they still have a country.

Congressman Conyers, how about a hearing on this President and Administration planning to usurp our Nation's laws through the North American Union and now this joined effort with the European Union? Wouldn't that be something that should concern the Judiciary Committee?

Couldn't you, sir, conceive of impeachment hearings of Cheney and then Bush, to halt them dead in their tracks and stop these plans that will destroy our Nation?

I don't want to be rude or impolite, Congressman Conyers, BUT HOW LOUDLY DO I HAVE TO SHOUT TO GET YOUR ATTENTION, SIR??? OUR NATION IS BEING DESTROYED AND OUR CONSTITUTION SHREDDED AND CONGRESS IS SNOOZING!!!!!

Thank you for your time and attention to this urgent matter. Sorry if I'm sounding hot-headed. I get that way when someone messes with my country.

No matter what you call it,

an "Agreement," an "Organization," or a piece of legerdemain, a TREATY is a TREATY, and MUST be ratified by the Congress (well, the Senate, actually), before it can supersede our laws. They have done us in with the WTO, the WHO, NAFTA, CAFTA, and the soon-to-be-realized-unless-stopped SAPP, but I THINK (maybe, hopefully), the Senate is beginning to wake up, and will possibly take a dim view of taking a back seat to a gaggle of unelected bureaucrats in some foreign Capital. At least it is to be hoped that some Senators will recognize that giving away American Sovereignty in wholesale lots is no less than TREASON. AND, it is DEFINITELY time that the Congress, in general, (both houses) stopped acting like spineless lapdogs to a treacherous "Administration." In fact, it is long past time that the Congress started to fulfill its Constitutional duties, which it has shamefully ducked for over a decade now. I had hoped that a changing of the guard would signal a recognition that it was time for a new direction, as advertised; but you cannot take the country in a new direction by heading down the same gerden path,

It is long past time to exhibit some essential guts,

~ The buildings being built in Iraq by "private contractors" seem to be shoddy and falling apart, are these the same contractors that are building the U.S. Embassy? Is it reasonable to expect that the U.S. Embassy, like other buildings, will crumble and drain sewage on the employees relatively soon?

How many violations of common law, Constitutional Law, and international law constitute a non-abridgment of any law?

~ When the president says to the American people that wiretaps require a court order and secretively breaks the law as provided to him by ordering wiretaps without court orders, when refuted and challenged in court and changes course without reprimand or consequences, who's to believe him when he says that he'll follow the law, as he sees fit? Why should he be trusted now, when he hasn't been held accountable with any sorts of consequences yet, but just a mere accounting of the lawlessness?

When you allow the usurpations of the Constitutional laws of the USA.

Max1 -- here's my take on part of your question(s)!

The invasion of Iraq:

655,000 plus deaths of Iraqis, 3,355 deaths of U.S. soldiers (now greater), 25,080 U.S. soldiers wounded;

continual profiteering by staying there;

out and out "encroachment" on Iraqi land for our Embassy and its compounds; and

the ultimate goal of the Iraq hydrocarbon law -- sharing of the oil revenues, which would leave Iraqis with only 1/5th of the revenues;

and, probably, so much more that we do not know about.

Off Topic - on the heels of the Downing Street Minutes...

Congresman Conyers, there was a time you were looking for more backup to the Downing Street Minutes and the run-up to the Iraq war.

Wolf Blitzer, host of CNN's The Situation Room, on Friday, May 4th, interviewed Carne Ross, the author of "Independent Diplomat: Dispatches from an Unaccountable Elite."

To go to the interview in the transcript, click here and scroll not quite two-thirds of the way down the transcript.

However, since the transcript is so long, I've pulled out the excerpt of the interview with Carne Ross below. Sorry the excerpt is so long but it is a heartily interesting read:

[TRANSCRIPT EXCERPT BEGINS:]

"Now fresh claims that the war in Iraq was launched based on intelligence that was purposely manipulated -- a former British diplomat now is talking at length about his powerful charges that he says the British government tried to keep quiet.

Our Brian Todd has more on the accusations being leveled, the secrets being spilled right now.

Brian, Carne Ross, the British diplomat, why is he speaking out now?

BRIAN TODD, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Well, Wolf, he says he couldn't speak out earlier, because the evidence he presented to a special British commission about the run-up to war was essentially sealed, until the British parliament requested that evidence and made it public themselves.

Now Carne Ross is not only speaking out. He is facing accusations of betraying his government for personal gain.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

TODD (voice-over): He was Britain's top expert on Iraq at the United Nations until just before the start of the war. Now Carne Ross says his government had this intelligence at that time on the threat posed by Saddam Hussein.

CARNE ROSS, FORMER BRITISH DIPLOMAT: Iraq did not pose a threat to us or its neighbors, that its stocks of WMD were residual and not substantial, and that containment was working.

TODD: In his new book, "Independent Diplomat," Ross says the case for war presented by the U.S. and Britain "was a gross exaggeration of what we knew," and Britain's behavior at the U.N. at that time "was, at best, manipulative and, at worst, dishonest." Ross has so angered the British government that he says London tried to discourage him from publishing it and deleted some sections after he sent the manuscript for approval. An official with Britain's Foreign and Commonwealth Office didn't respond to that claim, but did give us a statement, saying that office is "disappointed that Mr. Ross has chosen to betray the trust and confidence placed in him, and the book is also frequently inaccurate."

Ross not only stands by his claims; he says Tony Blair's government was submissive to the Bush administration, figuring it could do nothing to stop the Americans from going to war.

One analyst says Britain's reputation as a loyal, but honest behind-the-scenes partner with the U.S. did seem to break down at the most crucial time.

MICHAEL O'HANLON, SENIOR FELLOW IN FOREIGN POLICY STUDIES, BROOKINGS INSTITUTION: But it did not convince the United States to slow down the decision about when to launch the war. It did not manage to secure a second U.N. Security Council resolution authorizing the war explicitly. Therefore, it did not manage to create much international legitimacy.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

TODD: As a result, Michael O'Hanlon says Tony Blair will take a serious historical hit from the Iraq experience, and Britain may be much less willing to publicly support the Americans in the future -- Wolf.

BLITZER: Brian, is there any comment from the prime minister's office referring to Carne Ross' specific charges that the British were -- quote -- "submissive" to the Americans before the invasion?

TODD: Well, we called Tony Blair's office. They wouldn't comment on the book or Carne Ross' added characterization that they were submissive.

The British Foreign and Commonwealth Office also wouldn't comment on that. But they are clearly furious over this book.

BLITZER: Thanks very much, Brian, some very, very blunt talk about prewar intelligence, the case against Saddam Hussein's Iraq.

The former British U.N. Security Council diplomat Carne Ross is joining us now. He's the author of that new book, "Independent Diplomat."

Mr. Ross, thanks very much for joining us.

ROSS: Thanks for having me.

BLITZER: So, the bottom line is your suggestion that the intelligence was manipulated to justify going to war? Is that what you're suggesting? ROSS: Well, it's not really a suggestion. It's actually a recollection of fact. All the time I worked on Iraq as a British diplomat, our assessment, both inside the British government and inside the U.S. government, was that Iraq was not a threat.

And, yet, by the time the dossier or the public manifestation of the government's claims came out in September 2002, the governments were claiming something much more ambitious.

BLITZER: And, so, this was not an honest mistake, the fact that the U.S. and the British government and other governments around the world concluded Saddam Hussein had stockpiles of biological and chemical weapons, but it was -- well, what are you suggesting? I don't want to put words in your mouth.

ROSS: Sure.

It's not an honest mistake. I mean, both governments claim to this day that they were somehow misled by the intelligence. The intelligence was, in fact, pretty clear that Iraq had only residual stocks. It's not that they had nothing, but they had not nearly enough to pose a threat.

And that, emphatically, was our internal assessment for all the years I worked on it, between '98 and 2002. So, for these governments now to pretend that it was the intelligence that misled them is false.

BLITZER: You're familiar with the so-called Downing Street memo that was written in July...

ROSS: Yes.

BLITZER: ... of 2002 by Sir David Manning. He was then a foreign policy adviser to the prime minister. He's now the British ambassador here in Washington.

ROSS: Yes.

BLITZER: Among other things, that memo, which was strictly classified, but was later revealed, said this: "Bush wanted to remove Saddam through military action justified by the conjunction of terrorism and WMD, but the intelligence and facts were being fixed around the policy."

The memo goes on to say: "The NSC had no patience with the U.N. route, no enthusiasm for publishing material on the Iraqi regime's record. There was little discussion in Washington of the aftermath of military action."

Give us the context of this memo, because it's caused, as you well know over these years, a huge stir, especially the line that intelligence and facts were being fixed around the policy.

ROSS: Well, I think that confirms what I'm saying.

It's pretty clear the Bush and the Blair governments took a decision to go to war, and then tried to use the weapons inspection route and the claims of Iraqi WMD as a justification after the fact, when, in fact, the intelligence and the facts of WMD did not justify that course. That was not the real reason they went to war.

BLITZER: As you know, the -- the British government has issued statements to the effect that you betrayed the trust and confidence placed in you as a diplomat in order to seek personal gain by writing this book...

ROSS: Yes.

BLITZER: ... and that they don't agree with much of the content of the book. They argue that the book frequently is inaccurate and misrepresentative of the Foreign Office and foreign policy.

I want you to respond to those serious charges from your own government.

ROSS: Well, I challenge them to name where it's inaccurate. I mean, they have given me a list of supposed inaccuracies, but, in fact, they're differences in judgment over my own personal experience.

The book is a recollection of my own work. I'm not making claims about other people's experience, simply my own. And I think my memory of my own work is pretty accurate. And I would challenge the government to name those inaccuracies and debate me about them.

As for the betrayal of trust, well, that's a fair -- fair criticism. I am betraying the trust that was put in me, but I think these -- these issues are more important, frankly, that the public should know what their governments have done in their name.

And I think this is an extremely, extremely serious matter, to go to war on the basis of a falsehood.

BLITZER: The -- some have suggested you should have spoken up earlier, just before the war, or at the war, and gone public...

ROSS: Yes.

BLITZER: ... with your concerns then, when they might have had an impact. What do you say to those?

ROSS: They're right. I am ashamed that I didn't speak up earlier. I was afraid to. Friends of mine who were encouraging me to suggested I should have. I was too afraid. I was too attached to my career. I regret it.

Friends of mine, such as David Kelly, paid a very great price for the fact that some of us did not speak out at the time. I deeply regret it.

BLITZER: Carne Ross is the author of "Independent Diplomat: Dispatches from an Unaccountable Elite."

Thanks very much for coming in. ROSS: Thanks for having me."

Corruption of Law Enforcement, of DoJ, of FBI

Chairman Conyers: Mrs. Johnson's wrongful death is the tip of the iceberg of corruption and abuse of law enforcement under the Bush Administration.

There is a tangled web of corruption woven by BushCo, with far reaching consequences for Americans. IMHO, this sad case of Mrs. Johnson is a symptom of the disease of corruption that is rampant in BushCo's administration and it's "trickle down from the federal to the local level". I fear that the “Big Picture” of the damage of BushCo’s corruption and the lack of oversight of the activities of the FBI, DoJ, and local law enforcement is having dire consequences for Americans. It’s a tangled and complicated story, but it calls out loudly and urgently for Congressional Oversight. It’s a danger to focus on just one aspect of this, because the problems are inter-related, and the solutions will be complex.

I have been reading a series of diaries at Daily Kos about the US attorney purge. This whole scandal has aspects of politicization of the DoJ, as well as the FBI. Here are some of the puzzle pieces:

1. USA Purgegate—There’s Even a Murder in the Mix Re: Firing of US Attorney McKay in Seattle for trying to pursue prosecution in the case of the murder of US Attorney Wales.

”…Shorter version: Unprecedented murder of a federal prosecutor. United States Attorney (John McKay) fired for over-aggressively pursuing justice Five and a half year-old murder case still unsolved…” Note: FBI resources for investigating Federal Prosecutor Wales’ death are being cut by BushCo.

2. Firing of USA Lam was a Crime

…18 U.S.C. § 1512 c. which states: (c) Whoever corruptly—(1) alters, destroys, mutilates, or conceals a record, document, or other object, or attempts to do so, with the intent to impair the object’s integrity or availability for use in an official proceeding; or (2) otherwise obstructs, influences, or impedes any official proceeding, or attempts to do so, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than 20 years, or both…”

3. Deaths of Four US Attorneys Lastly a comment by “Halcyon” in the “Lam” Diary: brings up some chilling and extremely disturbing questions:

…(oddly) Two US Attorneys turned up dead in Houston, who were working on a huge case involving Novation LLC and Medicare fraud; and an Asst USA was murdered in Maryland.........and there were no press releases about them forthcoming from the DoJ........and the murder of Asst USA Tom Wales in Seattle.........”

In 1997, Congressional hearings investigated the extent and impact of international crime on the US and on Americans. These hearings brought up some disturbing facts and, given the current extent of corruption in the Bush Administration and the private sector, it seems that things have only gotten worse since that time. Here are some pertinent passages from that hearing,
The Threat From International Crime and Global Terrorism (1997!):

"(Hamilton?)...These new global cartels can ultimately be capable of buying entire governments...it is impacting on the United States and Americans, both now and the years to come, is becoming a huge problem with grave dangers....The size of this problem is really immense...

"...How does organized crime manifest itself in the life of the ordinary American, apart from drugs and apart from bombs going off, terrorism?"

"...Mr. FREEH. Yes, sir. I will give you a couple of examples. We have done several major health fraud investigations, both in Los Angeles and Miami..."

"...Mr. HAMILTON. Health fraud?

"...Mr. FREEH. Health fraud, individuals who are scamming Medicare systems or HMO systems; millions of dollars worth of fraud and losses being conducted by Russian organized crime groups; a recent case in Los Angeles, one in Florida, another one in New York....these groups hit the ground with gasoline excise tax frauds, health frauds, as well as...the traditional racketeering crimes. So they are very diverse. ((NOTE: Halcyon's comment Re: Current comment about untimely deaths ofTWO USAs who were investigating Medicare fraud;))

"...Mr. HAMILTON. ...I think you had 24 organized crime families in the United States, 2,000 people.."

"...Mr. HAMILTON. Groups. And 100,000 (organized crime) members...Do they cooperate with one another? Do they share information?..."

"...Mr. FREEH. ...They do work very closely with each other on particular joint ventures, criminal operations..."

"...Mr. HAMILTON... Where does this (international crime) fit in your priorities?...What percentage of your resources are given over to it?...

"...Mr. FREEH. A very small percentage...We attach a great priority to it...but I would probably spend maybe 5 percent" (Note: approx 85+ FBI agents) "of my investigative oversight time on cases relating to foreign operations..."

"...One of the things that I point out is that this is not just a law enforcement problem. It affects every part of our foreign policy, as we have talked about military issues...and what contractors we are dealing with... It affects political issues...”

BTW, one issue brought out in the Diary linked above, re: Carol Lam--diarist TocqueDeville comments: “There's a bit of stuff I left for later. Hopefully it will materialize. I'm trying to find out how Carol Lam may have been bought off with a fat gig at Qualcom which is, among other things, a defense contractor…‘The U.S. Army currently uses QUALCOMM's OmniTRACS® Mobile Communications Solution to track logistics vehicles throughout Europe and the Balkans. ‘ Maybe there's a there there. Maybe not. I think this is a valid line of research although difficult. “

As I said—the whole issue of local law enforcement, FBI and DoJ are inter-related, and have been corrupted and damaged by the years of politicization and corruption by lobbyists and corporate interests. The only way to solve this is to study the interconnections, and to prosecute—to the full extent of the law—everyone involved, from the bottom, all the way to the top of the Administration.

ADDENDUM: Re: Medicare Fraud, Possible Racketeering connections in Medicare Fraud, (oddly coincidental untimely) deaths of Two US Attorneys investigating Medicare Fraud, and coincidentally (??) today, Raw Story Reports: "NYT Reports: Private Medicare Plans Use 'Improper Tactics'". Again, I say--these seemingly unrelated reports, and criminal investigations may very well be related--at the very least it warrants serious investigation and Congressional Oversight.

My e-mail to John McHugh this morning.

Dear Mr. McHugh;
I'm writing today to make you aware of a very disappointing situation in St. Regis Falls New York. I recently received my School budget paperwork. Along with the school budget, there is an election for 2 board members.
One of these prospective new board members is a recently retired Correction officer. His name is Mickey Smith. He has served as interim superintendent during the time of the no-show scandal in Ray Brook, and later served as the education director for the same prison.
About 2 years ago this Co was caught snorting cocaine in his driveway with another CO. At the same time, there was a party inside attended by a group of CO's and police officers. I only know this because I talked to a neighbor who observed the situation. His penalty was that he was demoted from Education director to Sargent.
Last year, this same CO participated in the strong-arming of an inmate who had filed a complaint against a Co who kept his radio. They forced him to write a statement refuting the original, then left the rough draft in his own handwriting for the inmate to send to his sister.
We immediately went to Julie Garcia's office to press charges, with the statement in question, written in the 2 CO's handwriting.
We told her he feared for his life, and rather than protect him, someone in her office warned the Co's that an investigation was being initiated. He was beaten, charged internally with assault, sent to the Malone maxi-max prison and subsequently had 2 years extended to his minimum.
An article 78 appeal was begun without any lawyer to help, and presided over by the Honorable John C. Egan. The inmates name is Paul Roach, # 98-A-4346, the index number for his appeal is #7555-06.
This rotten nasty CO, Mickey Smith, never had charges pressed against him and was allowed to retire after betraying the public trust on many occasions. His co-hort in crime is rumored to be the brother of the Town Justice in Waverly.
Instead of this criminal being charged by Julie Garcia for his part in coercing Mr. Roach, after his demotion for snorting cocaine in his driveway, he was allowed to retire with a permanent check from the taxpayer.
My School board booklet mentions the fact that he now works as a business agent for Teamsters Local 687.
How can you reconcile the fact that this man, who should be in prison for his crimes, has been allowed to leach off the taxpayer forever, and is now guaranteed a position as a St Regis Falls school Board member?
With 2 open seats and only 2 people running, it doesn't take the Anenbergers to predict that he will win.
I've been writing to Congressman Conyers about many things, and I was happy to see that he had taken up the cause of the 92 year old lady that was murdered by the police in Georgia, IMO, but how do I bring the abuses of white people to the forefront?
Their Congressional Black Caucus rallies around people of color, who do disadvantaged whites have for protection?
Please look into the criminal activity surrounding this case. I'm a Democrat, and the people allowing this type of criminal activity are Democrats. I've tried Kirsten Gillebrand, I'm not a constituent. I've been to Julie Garcia's office three times, only to be rebuffed by a retired trooper who said he had never heard of the "thin blue line".
My daughter is a high honors student at St. Regis Falls, she's been an alternate at the Howard Scripps spelling bee in Watertown, and she's been in Senior band since 4th grade. My son has been in the Air Force and Air National Guard since 1999, and tomorrow, he comes home from Iraq.
I am incensed that those rat bastard Democrats would allow these rotten apples to not only remain uncharged, but to retire on the public dime.
Because Julie Garcia refused to press charges for coercion, and Derek Champagne(R), allowed him to be demoted instead of arrested for snorting cocaine in his driveway, he is now in a position to do even more damage, this time to our school system.
In an area where it is routine for inmates to be criminally charged for spitting on a guard, the lack of county charges brought against Paul Michael Roach, should be viewed as very suspect.
Not only did they cover up his crimes, they've placed him in position to damage innocent people.
Please look into this Mr. McHugh. Like I tell Mr. Conyers all the time, America is in a Constitutional crisis. Whoever professes to have allegiance to the Constitution, and not their party upline, will win the next election.
I am deeply offended that the organized crime ring running our educational system in Franklin County, would allow someone like this to get close enough to influence my child.
Party sycophantcy aside, I think you are a good man. So I periodically bother to send you my thoughts.
This issue enrages me to the point of frustration. It's bad enough that these people are giving our tax dollars to an imaginary charter school in Nicholville, now they want to place a cokefreak strong-arm expert on the board.
This should all be part of the public record. Everything from his demotion, to the appeal in the Supreme Court in Albany, docket number 7555-06, should be easily found. If you want to see photos of Mr. Roach after the assault, we have those too. The boot print against his neck is clearly visible.
Please research this situation and ask Ms. Garcia why she refused to press charges. The handwriting analysis came back positive, and we've done everything we can think of to bring this man to justice.
The next time someone asks why our public school system is being bled dry, please remember the caliber of people on the school boards. Criminals beget criminals.
Thank God for the second amendment. Please help.
Mark A. Jeror sr.

Off Topic - Republicans Supporting Barak Obama.

Some of the neocons or original backers and supporters of Bush are now supporting Barak Obama. See Republicans defect to the Obama camp.

Congressman Conyers, can we trust our secret service to protect Barak Obama? I worry that the powers behind the scenes want Hillary to win in keeping with the skull and bones line to the throne. She ain't doin so well in the polls if you take into account Barak's rise in the polls.

Our Secret Service?

Isn't the secret service the presidents' personal toy? With the secret service helping Obama, we can expect the GOP frontrunner to appear at Barak's campaign stops 15 minutes before he gets there.

Maybe I'm wrong, but that sure seems to be what happened to Kerry.

As far as Obama is concerned, is Chicago where George files his income taxes? Is that where the railroads and robber barons had their headquarters during the 1800's? Is it the historic heart of America's organized crime families? Al Capone thought so.

When I think of all these things together, I get a painful knot in the pit of my stomach.

No wonder my wife calls me Markey Brown.

I, too, am becoming concerned!

Early on, Obama made tremendous strides in collecting from individual donors for his campaign, which nearly equalled Hillary's success with her corporate donors. Now, it seems that Obama is being played up by corporate donors to the extent where some view him as the new "corporate candidate." I find that quite upsetting. Here is an article that was published in today's Chicago Sun-Times:

"May Day Edition

Just Another Corporate Candidate?
Obama, Incorporated
By JOSHUA FRANK

One cannot scale the ranks of the Democratic establishment without selling out to Washington insiders, and presidential aspirant Barack Obama is quite adept at playing the game. Since announcing his candidacy in early February, Obama has raised millions of dollars from corporate fat-cats and multinational corporations. While the young candidate has leaned heavily on law firms to which he has professional connections - he's also not been afraid to dip in to the trough of Big Business. And it's a sure sign Obama is a real contender for his party's nomination. . . ."

Franklin D. Roosevelt

The thing is,

with a Pritzker family member running his campaign, it is MORE than likely that Obama will have some major corporate donors. But he is being labeled for it.

How about Bush? No one could have had more GOP affiliated corporate donors than he, including defense industries -- was he ever "labeled" for it?

"There is nothing to fear but fear itself."
Franklin D. Roosevelt

He should have been "branded".

Constant rumor and innuendo are the trademarks of American politics. If they are responded to in a timely manner, it serves to prevent the branding of the politician.

With the recent polls alleging that Obama is ahead of Hillary at the polls, and Bill's Dino act during the last few years of his presidency, it looks like the DLC and their cohorts in crime at the RNC, have teamed with the Clinton campaign to pre-emptively badmouth the only candidate who can stop their dismantling of Democracy.

Obama and his K-Street obligations do make me nervous, but not as nervous as the possibility of the RNDLC maintaining control of the White house. A McCain, Guiliani, or Clinton presidency at this time will be like rearranging chairs on the Titanic.

Bush should have been branded as a fortunate scofflaw who deserted his post during a time of war, but the DLC types refused. They did token badmouthing, but not to the point where it pierced the MSM right wing foghorn of propaganda.

When presented with the current crop of wannabe presidents, we have to make sure we don't get too fully vested in any one candidate, for one reason only.

Gonzales is likely to stay the Attorney General because the Dems won't want to besmirch America's reputation. At the most politically opportunistic time, he will use the information gleaned during his many FISA violations to badmouth and possibly prosecute our frontrunner.

Timing is everything in politics. Getting rid of Gonzales now, paves the way to victory later. Allowing him to conveniently weasel out of it, paves the way for victory too. Just not for the Democrats.

Unfortunately, Mark,

I fear you are correct, as so often you are.

I believe that Obama is "favored," so, therefore, he will be the target of the most vicious propaganda campaigning against him, probably, the likes of what we have never seen -- for obvious reasons. Still, the "spin" has begun and it's, as per usual, filthy!

These are the insidious manueuvers that have been going on right down the line by the GOP and thus, they were ultimately able to "steal" the election (not once, but twice), via hook or crook!

I, too, am not all that happy with "corporate" contributions. Unfortunately, the "money" is where it's at -- STILL! I agree wholeheartedly with Frosty's assessment -- let the public fund the campaigns. Or some other remedy as would be equitable to all!
Perhaps, limited contributions for each candidate, and limited air time, etc.

"There is nothing to fear but fear itself."
Franklin D. Roosevelt

Other possibilities

If it should turn out that Hillary is the Democratic Nominee, she'd better pray that the Republicans nominate Giuliani, because he is the ONLY Republican she can beat! She has three things against her - first, her last name. Hardly anyone really wants Bill in the White House for another eight years! Second, she's a woman - even if she acts more macho than Edwards or Obama, and third, she's a New Yorker. If her opponent is a New Yorker, too, maybe she can overcome the first two problems, but with all three working against her, she couldn't beat Mitt Romney, who is not exactly a front runner!

I only wish Dennis Kucinich was a six-footer! With some "Altitude," he'd wallop ANY Republican rat. Unfortunately, we don't seem to take ability into account anywhere near as much as we do sheer size. Too bad - but that's why IF the Democrats nominate Edwards, he's a shoo-in! He's not only tall, he's pretty! He'll get the women's vote, hands down. Obama has two things against him, which may be fatal. He's too black for the whites, and he's too white for the blacks, so about all he has really going for him are the Hispanics, who could care less either way. Maybe sixteen years from now, when the Hispanics are in the majority, he'd have a chance - - - and I'm only about half kidding! Prejudice counts for more in Politics than proven ability, or programs. Sad, but true. I think Obama might make a good President, but I doubt that he'll ever BE one - Hillary? Well, she was pretty good before, but I DON'T like her "Health" program. It has too damn' many Insurance Companies in it; it's why JC's and Dennis' program is so superior, and, incidentally, why it has no chance of being enacted. The Insurance Companies are already throwing up all over it!

12 U.S. Soldiers Killed in Iraq
By AP/RAVI NESSMAN

(Baghdad) — A roadside explosion outside the Iraqi capital on Sunday killed six American soldiers and a civilian journalist, the military said, among 12 U.S. troop deaths reported on a day when two car bombs killed at least 44 Iraqis at a Baghdad market and a police headquarters.

A car bomb in the capital, where U.S.-led forces are in the midst of a crackdown on sectarian violence, killed at least 30 Iraqis. At the police headquarters in Samarra, a volatile city in the Sunni heartland 60 miles north of Baghdad, a car bomb and shooting attack killed 12 police?including the police chief.

American soldiers racing to the headquarters to help also came under attack by small arms fire and rocket-propelled grenades that left two soldiers wounded, the military said.

Dozens of al-Qaida linked insurgents — some wearing masks and carrying video cameras and black banners — also paraded through the streets in Samarra, arriving in about 40 cars, in a show of force against the U.S.-Iraqi efforts to tame the Tigris River city. . . ." (I wonder if they peeked under their masks to see if these insurgents had al-Qaida written on their foreheads.) I say that because NPR had an hour long radio show the other day (May 2) and al Qaida was not mentioned as having much to do with any of the insurgent activity. (Some universities having been studying and tracking on this very subject.) The suicide bombers are mostly Sunnis, or have volunteered from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and some Iranians. They are -- get this -- against the Iraqi government, as such, and the presence of "foreign" influences. Not one Shi'a has committed a suicide bombing.

More and worse heartache each day!

12 U.S. Soldiers...

Franklin D. Roosevelt

LOL Frosted...

You're too good. Peeking under the masks...

Trust me, I know many a Democrat that still calls our excursion into Iraq, both past and present, as a legitimate "war" and refuse to call it what it is, an invasion and occupation of a sovereign nation.

BTW, why and how does Bush think that he can require from the Iraqis a degree of democracy that is foreign to them? The degree of militarism that is only known to the U.S.A.? The type of gratefulness from the Iraqis, themselves, that only loyal Bushies know of?

By all counts, if they shoot bullets with those guns we let them keep after our invasion, and use the ammo dumps we didn't seal tight from disgruntled dissidents, then by all accounts... they be al-CIAda, don't-cha knows...

Yep, "TIA,"

I reckon you would be correct!

"There is nothing to fear but fear itself."
Franklin D. Roosevelt

LOL

You and I both are too funny, NO?
Sorry tahoe. Me bad.

It's O.K., Max1,

I couldn't resist! . . . . still chuckling!

"There is nothing to fear but fear itself."
Franklin D. Roosevelt

What did I say, Tahoe?

Were you referring to me or to Max 1? Or were those quotes to imply TIA. Sorry, I get confused by my own name!

Max had called

Tahoe, Frosted, so Tahoe called Max, TIA. LOL

Bill Moyers Gets It...

Investigative journalist (the dying breed) Bill Moyers latest installment of his series, Bill Moyers Journal, interviewed the Italian reporter, Carlo Bonini, who broke the story of the Niger Yellow Cake forgeries in Italy...

BILL MOYERS: He (Italian Prime Minister Berlusconi) gave the President something the President needed to make a case?

CARLO BONINI: Absolutely. And it was more than a smoking gun. It was a mushroom cloud. I mean, back in October, 2001, and early winter, 2002 - the White House had what it had been looking for for months. The final evidence that Saddam was restarting the nuclear program.

BILL MOYERS: By looking for this yellow cake?

CARLO BONINI: Absolutely.

BILL MOYERS: The President said the source was British intelligence. But you discovered it was Italian intelligence. Do you know why the President said it was British intelligence?

CARLO BONINI: Well, what happened here is what we call competitive intelligence.

BILL MOYERS: What do you mean competitive? Why is it competitive?

CARLO BONINI: It means that you put a piece of raw intelligence in the circuit of the intelligence - allied intelligence agencies. And what happens is in the morning what is false in the morning turns into true facts at night. This information is given to the US intelligence. In the meantime, the same information is given to the British intelligence. The US intelligence checks the informations with the British intelligence. And the British intelligence says, "Yeah, we have the same information." The point is that the two intelligence agencies, they don't have to share their sources. So nor the Americans nor the Brits are going to say from whom they got the informations. But they got a confirmation.

BILL MOYERS: So -

CARLO BONINI: Then they talk to the Italians. And the Italians say, "Oh, you had a confirmation from the British?" Rome talks to London, "Hey, you got a confirmation from Washington?" So the same piece of junk obtained in 48 hours, two different confirmations. It's a mirror game. I can say briefly when US intelligence received the informations from the Italians, they - I mean, the CIA urged the DGSE - the French intelligence, the French CIA - to check the informations because Niger is a former French colony. There's no better intelligence agency than the French one to double check a story like this. They worked hard on the information, and they came back saying there is nothing. This intelligence you received is simply junk intelligence. There is no evidence of such a deal between the Niger government and the Iraqi government.

BILL MOYERS: They told this to Washington.

CARLO BONINI: Yeah.

BILL MOYERS: The junkyard dealer who started this...

CARLO BONINI: Rocko Martino.

BILL MOYERS: And SISME, your intelligence agency, had this agent, this mole in the Niger Embassy in Rome.

CARLO BONINI: Who could provide, you know, the stamps, the letters. All the stationery needed to cook up this mess. So, I mean, SISME, you know, a full involvement, it's absolutely clear also in making up the story. The problem is that Martino will never, I mean, it's actually he's a - his insurance - his personal insurance. I mean, he will never say, well, what had been promised to him, because what I know, and I remember when he we had a chance to talk to Martino. I mean, he was very frightened. I mean -

BILL MOYERS: Right.

CARLO BONINI: Yeah. I mean -

BILL MOYERS: That all there was coming out?

CARLO BONINI: Yeah. I mean, when the story finally went out of control of Rocco himself, of SISME, of CIA, of White House, of Downing Street, everybody was scared. And you can imagine. Rocco Martino was badly scared.

BILL MOYERS: I can imagine him sitting at home with his glass of red wine watching CNN when the President.

CARLO BONINI:Yeah.

BILL MOYERS: Utters those 16 words.

CARLO BONINI:Yeah.

PRESIDENT BUSH:The British government has learned that Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa.

They end with the lesson about how journalists need to be faithful to the truth and not get sucked into the lies and propaganda.

So, was Feith's office an office set up by the White House to create competitive evidence, even when none existed, so as to make the claim of WMD's, imminent threat, mushroom clouds ever more real to you and I? Look at what this 'competitive evidence creating' has brought.

And why would the Italians suddenly have the documents that the White House needed to seal their airtight, slam dunk case? And why was it sold to us as the British Government and NOT(!) the Italians?

So, if you create a lie that underscores my point of view, and you vet this lie out to another source for reinforcement of the lie, and I quote the vetted source as my source, yet you deliver to me the falsified evidence that I eventually use to wreck havoc across a Nation of people resulting in the worst humanitarian and National crisis we face today as it's result, I can just play it off as no harm, no foul... right?

The only reason I can think of Ms. Rice wishing to not testify, is perhaps the link to the forgeries on the U.S.A.'s side may become exposed. And darn it if that may strike ANOTHER scandal from the White House but from our State Department this time.

You aren't defending, protecting, preserving the Constitution of the USA
When you allow the usurpations of the Constitutional laws of the USA.

I want to know

Which members of the Senate and House Intelligence Committees Bush "briefed", as he said at the time, what they knew to be accurate and what they knew to be inconsistent. I want to know at what point are those members obligated to to share information with the other members of Congress and with the American people, if they realized that the administration was altering the facts to sell a "war". If they are forced to hold closed hearings for "national security" reasons, are they not also required by law to disclose the fact that this administration's policies based on lies is a threat to our national security?

Thank goodness we have some brave journalists like Moyers.

Boy this should really bring stability

U.S. allows Shiite militia security role

Miska's efforts suffered a setback last week when Iraq's parliament passed legislation banning U.S. troops from within two-thirds of a mile of the shrine.

The measure, proposed by al-Sadr's representatives in parliament, was seen as largely symbolic and was approved the day after a gunbattle between U.S. troops and Mahdi fighters.

During the two-hour fight, some Iraqi soldiers fought alongside Mahdi Army gunmen, according to the Iraqi officer in charge of security in the area.

He spoke on condition of anonymity out of fear for his life. But his account was corroborated by U.S. officials, who said some Iraqi soldiers took off their uniforms and tossed weapons to militiamen.

The "enemy" serves the "enemy?"

Unreal, Alma!

"There is nothing to fear but fear itself."
Franklin D. Roosevelt

I Wonder What the Symbolism of Iraqi...

...Army soldiers fighting alongside the "insurgents", against US troops signifies?

IMHO, in a sane world, it would signify that it's time for our soldiers to come home...

I just watched...

A little show on PBS about China's rising economic force. A segment in the show documented their new democracy. How the people vote for the Party representatives to be sent to Beijing and endorse the Party principles. These representatives mostly vote for the Party's initiatives, regardless of who it benefits, because Party loyalty and unity is paramount. Those that challenge this process are quickly filtered out. Unwelcome Party members or unregistered Party members never make it Beijing, sometimes declared unfit for representation and often elections thrown to registered Party members.

Funny how China, the last Great Communist Country left on the earth, calls itself a democracy. NO? After all, they can call themselves this because they allow the people to vote. Of course, they also screen the votes to attain the desired results.

So, what kind of democracy does Bush desire from Iraq? Is it attainable?

===================================================
You aren't defending, protecting, preserving the Constitution of the USA
When you allow the usurpations of the Constitutional laws of the USA.

I thought we had the same kinda Democracy.

Between the like minded individuals, fraternities, sororities, secret societies, and anyone who is "on the same page", we already have that type of government.

Look at the buttheads we get to choose from every election. Without their K-Street connections and acceptance by the status quo'ers, honest politicians don't stand a chance.

Look how our politicians refuse to allow anything that doesn't waste more oil than it saves, in the ethanol debate. Whatever page they are working on will include coal as a major player because coal and oil are the only ones allowed. Oil consumption works just fine for ethanol, and the synfuel scam has been taking billions per year since 1978, with no return on America's investment.

The only difference I see, is the Chinese are honest about it. Bush and Cheney are sort of honest. George told America that this was to be a generational conflict, and his actions since then have been geared toward neverending war, and Cheney simply told Congress to go Cheney themselves.

The ones who scare me, are the eco-tourism scam artists that use water concerns to ensure that their husbands investment properties, are in close proximity to areas where government money will ensure drastic rises in their property evaluations.

They don't even have to take the cash themselves, as long as the tax money spent, increases the value of the overall waterfront area.

Hey! Did anyone else see the story describing how Nancy Pelosi is improving the SF waterfront area, so her husbands investment properties gain in value?

Don't expect Nancy to do anything to protect the Constitution. She an eco-tourism investor, not an enviro. Enviro's want to save the environment. Eco-tourism agents don't give a rats ass about the environment, unless they can arrange to position themselves to benefit.
I wonder how many illegal constitutional violations she is allowing to happen in her area. Waterfronts used to be filled with human wharfrats and riffraff.

For Nancy to promote the gentrification of this area, the depopulation has already been done. Blatantly legislating so her husbands property increases in value, usually comes after they bought valuable property beforehand. I wonder who they screwed over the last few years to get in position to profit?

The Chinese are rookies at Democracy. If they knew how easy it is to act nice and screw people, they wouldn't bother being so honest about their crookedness. All they have to do is watch how Feinstein's husband benefits from his defense business, and Pelosi's main squeeze uses gentrification, and they too could destroy Democracy while they prattle on about saving it.

America, what an opportunity. I like the Constitution. Party loyalty means nothing, unless the party shares our concerns.

It looks like it might take another election to eliminate the like minded individuals.

If you didn't

say so, I'd have thought you were talking about US democracy.

What goes around...

Mark,

And imagine, China's just a beginner in the stock market...

We've recently lost Auto status... Sorry J.C. Once steel went, the car was sure to follow.

We struck it rich with gold once, black gold that is... now look where we are and what we're fighting to keep the last vestiges of... O.I.L., Texan blood that is.
